To assess whether an operation meets our standards, independent third-party inspectors use detailed evaluation criteria and indicators to asses whether and how desired management outcomes are being achieved.

Because nature and our food system are complex and one size does not fit all, Food Alliance has developed evaluation criteria for over 30 different kinds of crops and livestock production systems, and for many types of food processing and distribution businesses.
