Farm & Ranch Certification

Farm & ranch certification is guided by a set of standards which need to be met in order for food producers to use the Food Alliance Certified label.

Farm and Ranch Evaluation Criteria

Every Food Alliance Certified farm and ranch meets our Whole Farm/Ranch evaluation criteria as well as a set of evaluation criteria for each crop or animal product that is certified. Food Alliance maintains inspection tools with evaluation criteria for over 3o livestock and cropping systems.

Our crop- and animal-specific inspection tools contain both fixed and variable evaluation criteria. Fixed criteria must be met to qualify for certification. Variable criteria are the basis for a point system that helps determine whether the farm or ranch meets the performance threshold for certification.
